How do you keep your makeup fresh? I often can’t touch up my makeup between the time I leave my house in the morning, through the day and then for any after-hours activities. I do, however, have a few tricks in my arsenal to keep my makeup looking great.
Keep Makeup Fresh: Setting Powder
Powder is important to make your makeup last. Start out with a loose powder, like Mehron Setting Powder, and apply it with a powder puff. Roll the puff over your face to set your foundation. It’s also a great base for lipstick and eyeshadow.
While you’re on the go, absorb grease and maintain your look with pressed powder, like Becca’s Blotting Powder. It’s compact, easy to apply, and will keep you looking fresh all day.
Keep Makeup Fresh: Setting Spray
After you’ve applied foundation, bronzer, blush and powder, what do you do to set it? Setting spray, of course. Skin FX HD Matting Spray is a great one — it keeps your makeup matte, seals your makeup like no other, and helps eliminate touch-ups throughout the day.
Keep Makeup Fresh: Lipstick
Keeping your lipstick fresh can be tough. Eating, drinking, talking — all affect your lipstick. Mehron makes a great Lipstick Sealer that will keep your lipstick from budging all day.
Don’t want to use a sealer? Kevyn Aucoin’s Matte Lipstick doesn’t budge. Seriously — it doesn’t go anywhere, and it’s not drying like the “stay-put” lipsticks that are polymer-based. It comes in a variety of colors, and you can always top with a gloss if you don’t mind a little reapplication throughout the day.
Keep Makeup Fresh: Eyes
Waterproof liner is a must, and I love Kevyn Aucoin’s. Whether you’re looking for a simple line or an of-the-moment cat eye, this one won’t budge if you wipe, tear or cry, but it’s easy to remove with regular facial cleanser or wipes! Easy, and on-point.
If you are applying glitter to your eyes (or anywhere!), try Roxanne Rizzo’s Glitter Drops, which will keep your glitter from moving around (and leaving a fairy-trail behind you!).
