The 2016 Tony Awards nominations have just been announced! And it’s already proving to be a historic occasion. After all, the musical juggernaut Hamilton nabbed an astounding 16 nominations – a record breaking feat. While it might be the favorite to win big, a number of fantastic shows are getting some well deserved applause.
We here at MWS are especially proud to see so many of our esteemed colleagues and clients being recognized for their work. Indeed, here are the outstanding nominees for the costume design categories:

The list of nominees includes both celebrated veterans and talented first-timers. We’d especially like to call attention to Jane Greenwood and Ann Roth. Jane has designed costumes for over 125 Broadway shows and just received her 20th nomination (for Long Day’s Journey Into Night)! And Ann just earned her 7th nomination for her detailed work in Shuffle Along, Or the Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed. Ms. Roth won Best Costume Design of a Play in 2013 for the Nance.
