Spring Cleaning And Organizing

The silver lining of my isolation is that I have had a lot of time and energy for Spring cleaning and organizing. Frankly, my home has never looked better. I will admit that it was hard to get started because there were so many half-finished projects and so much dirt in hard to reach places that it seemed daunting.

Spring Cleaning And Organizing: Organizing Socks

I channeled Marie Kondo and began by sorting clothes. It all started with my socks. First of all how the heck did I acquire so many socks? I matched up what I could and pulled out anything that had abandoned its mate, had holes or dried out elastic. All of the rejects went in my rag bag. My newly matched sock wardrobe was then rolled and placed in a drawer. That exercise so inspired me that I cleaned out every one of my clothes drawers with a newfound vigor and confidence for disposing of stuff.

Spring Cleaning And Organizing: Organizing Accessories

Here’s where it got harder, I decided to organize hanging clothes by season type and color. I began by getting hangers that matched. I also got special hangers for scarves, belts, and ties.

Spring Cleaning And Organizing: Organizing Sweaters

I took sweaters, tops and shoes that I’d stuffed in a big bag and put them in clear bins that I could stack. It made a huge difference. I realized that the clutter and disorganization had been weighing on me. Oh, and I found a lot of pretty things with price tags still on them that I had forgotten about. MWS also has hanging sweater storage organizers and clear bags for all types of storage

So I was on a role. Next, I sorted jewelry. MWS has these great trays and boxes for jewelry organization. It worked so well, I actually cleaned up my husband’s guitar shop. He had screws and bolts all over the place. I organized them into these wonderful little plastic boxes. There are guitar picks in every square inch of my house, including the washer, dryer, and shower. I picked them all up and sorted them by color in this cute little box and he was delighted.

Spring Cleaning And Organizing: Organizing Everything Else

It took a couple of weeks but I organized every room. I had to get aggressive about discarding things and finding storage solutions for things that made the cut. MWS also has great products for hanging storage options for everything from jewelry, pantyhose and toiletries to shoes.

Spring Cleaning And Organizing: The Cleaning

After organizing it was time to clean. You may not know that MWS carries lots of cleaning products from Simple Green, Lysol, and Vinegar to Seventh Generation. I got out those discarded socks and paper towels (yes MWS has them in stock) and after the initial excuses and avoidance it started to feel so good I didn’t want to stop.
