Well awards season is in full swing! And while the Oscars aren’t for another month, there are still a handful of events leading up to Hollywood’s biggest night. Chief among them are the Costume Design Guild Awards and the Makeup Artists and Hair Stylist Guild Awards. Naturally, we here at MWS are bursting with excitement for these nominations. After all, many of these illustrious individuals are esteemed friends, colleagues and customers. Here’s a quick overview of these upcoming galas.
Nominations: Costume, Hair and Makeup – Special Awards
The 19th Costume Design Guild Awards will be held on February 21st. During the ceremony, legendary costume designer Jeffrey Kurland will be honored with the Career Achievement Award and three-time Academy Award-winning actress Meryl Streep will receive the Distinguished Collaborator Award.
Moreover, the 2017 Makeup Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards will honor Ryan Murphy (four-time Emmy Award-winning producer, director and screenwriter) with this year’s Distinguished Artisan Award. Additionally, Leonard Engelman (Emmy-nominated makeup artist) and Barbara Lorenz (Oscar and Emmy-nominated hair stylist), will both receive the Guild’s Lifetime Achievement Award. All other winners will be announced on February 19th.
