Only Murders In The Building, Costume Design by Dana Covarrubias

Dana Covarrubias is the genus mind behind Selena Gomez’s iconic yellow outfits and all of Martin Short’s droll-worthy vintage coats in Only Murders in the Building. She cut her teeth on comedy shows, but solidified her New York-centric style on series like Quantico. She credits the book covers of the wildly popular YA novels The Hardy Boys for being a major inspiration for her color palates in the show.

The White Lotus, Costume Design by Alex Bovaird

A rich vacation style aesthetic informs the costume design in The White Lotus. To quote Vogue, “The clothing worn by those self-obsessed one-percenters is so truthful, you might think you accidentally tuned into a Real Housewives vacation special.” To get the looks just right, Bovaird took to Instagram for real-life #Bahamas inspiration.

This two-time Emmy Award winner (Outstanding Period Costumes for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Outstanding Costumes for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special for John Adams) is once again being lauded for her work on MMM! Known for her thoughtful, character-driven designs and intuitive use of color, it is no wonder that Donna is once again up for this award! Want to know more?
