NYFW: Men’s

NYFW: Men’s is a four-day extravaganza, showcasing the future of men’s fashion. Indeed, numerous designers will be debuting their Spring/Summer 2017 collections when the event kicks off on July 11th. And while there will be plenty of established names, it’s definitely an incredible opportunity for emerging designers to be discovered!

NYFW: Men’s – Designers to Watch
It’s certainly very challenging to keep track of all the shows taking place throughout NYFW. After all, approximately 50 designers are expected to present their collections. Therefore, we figured we’d do you a favor and highlight a few of the most anticipated designers/brands:
To begin with, Perry Ellis is expected to place a premium on both versatility and functionality. We’re especially excited to see their sport-inspired lightweight outerwear. Similarly, EFM (Engineered For Motion) will be emphasizing simplicity and showing pieces that can easily take you from day to night.

Of course, a handful of brands found design inspiration from some more conceptual ideas. For example, PLAC has developed a collection inspired by the work of David Hockney. And Private Policy utilized digital print, laser cut and binding plastic for their youthful yet high-end collection.

Finally, the avant-garde street-wear brand N-p-Elliott will show a collection inspired by French philosopher Voltaire. The brand’s unique pieces feature a number of interesting details, from special cuts and/or fabrications to side seam pockets that can be worn on the outside.

NYFW: Men’s – Retail Lab
This NYFW also features the debut of the Retail Lab, an innovative mentoring and merchandising program. Indeed, the Retail Lab will provide new designers with temporary retail space and an opportunity to gain real-world business experience. The store opens early this month with inaugural designer Timo Weiland.
