Serge Normant: History

Serge Normant worked his way up from a teenager in a Parisian salon (where he learned to do everything from perming to cutting), to assisting stylists working at Parisian fashion shows, to heading to New York at 22 under Bruno Pittini.  Normant had always been interested in shapes, and he looks for shapes when creating hairstyles — whether it’s for a movie star or for a runway model (or even his regular clients at John Frieda).

Instead of partnering with another brand, he created his own because that’s what he’d always done — combined products to make one that works perfectly. In an interview with Byrdie, Normant said of formulating: “Dry shampoo is something I’ve always loved, but it was something I’ve always had to mix with other products to get the right result. I wanted to create a formula that added volume and texture, too.”
