Can’t find a sanitizer? You’re not alone. They are becoming difficult if not impossible to find. At MWS we have a couple of alternatives. The important thing to remember is that in order for a hand sanitizer to be effective it must be at least 60% alcohol.

Sanitizers For You and Your Home: Non-Porous Surface

With packages coming in from the grocery store and online shopping it is hard to know how to clean non-porous surfaces. We have a few suggestions.

There is not enough data to show that any disinfectant kills all viruses. However, we have had lots of inquiries about End Bac II and it is back in stock! End Bac II has the following properties.

• For use as a disinfectant on pre-cleaned surfaces
  
• Controls mold and mildew
  
• Tuberculocidal and fungicidal
  
• Leaves fresh clean fragrance
  

One of our most popular products 99% alcohol is now available. The CDC recommends that if you use Alcohol to disinfect hard surfaces you must use a formula that is at least 70% isopropyl alcohol. 99% alcohol can also be used for countless household tasks.

You can use 99% alcohol to clean:

• Disinfecting computer mouse and keyboard. Use an alcohol-soaked cotton swab or damp alcohol-soaked microfiber cloth to clean your computer’s keyboard and mouse.
• Disinfecting mobile phone. Spray some alcohol on a wipe or paper towel to clean and disinfect.
• Cleaning dry erase boards. You can put the solution into a spray bottle or apply some on a washcloth or paper towel to clean the board.
• Removing ink and permanent marker stains.  Soak a stained area in rubbing alcohol for several minutes. Follow this up by washing the garment.
• Cleaning makeup brushes. Pour some rubbing alcohol into a small cup and dip your makeup brush into the cup, swirling it around for a few seconds. Rinse the brush with lukewarm water and lay flat on a towel to dry.
• Cleaning sinks and chrome.  Pour the alcohol onto a soft cloth and clean. You don’t have to follow up with water to rinse because the alcohol will evaporate.
• Deodorizing shoes. If your shoes are starting to smell a little strong, spraying on rubbing alcohol can help. Setting them out in the sun to fully dry can further aid the alcohol in killing bacteria.
• Refreshing sponges. Soaking kitchen sponges in rubbing alcohol can help to disinfect them so they’re ready for use. This money-saving trick can give your sponges new life.
