4 Ways to Get That 90s Look!
Author: Cheryl Kilbourne-Kimpton
We hear that the 90s are back — and if the floral dresses and berry lipsticks we saw on the runway are any indication, they are! Whether you were into nude makeup, Chanel Vamp, plastic chokers or the goth look, you can incorporate a little 90s into your style while still feeling very modern. Here are 4 things to inspire you in your 90s revamp!
90s Look: Spruce Up Your Doc Martens
Do you still have your Doc Martens in the back of a closet? Spruce them up with Kiwi’s Shoe Shine Kit. The Kiwi Travel Shoe Shine Kit will help you clean and polish your Docs to make them look like new. Do you have fancy colors of Docs (I used to love my Oxblood!)? Meltonian Shoe Cream Polish comes in a variety of colors, and if you have metallic Docs, try Terrago Metallic Shoe Polish! We have tons of options for every color.
90s Look: Neutral Makeup
Kevyn Aucoin was the king of 90s makeup — and we carry his line! Whether you’re looking for matte cheeks (try Kevyn Aucoin’s The Sculpting Powder), neutral lips (Kevyn’s The Matte Lip will work well in Infinite, Relentless and Enduring) or neutral eyes (Kevyn’s The Essential Eye Shadow Palette Set is a great way to start!), Kevyn Aucoin will up your 90s makeup game.
90s Look: Berry Lip
The Berry Lip– not a soft stain, but a juicy, rich dark berry– was huge in the 90s, and it’s back again. If you want to create a berry lip, try Ellis Faas’ Glazed Lips in Berry, Julie Hewett Noir Lipstick in Sin or Kevyn Aucoin’s The Expert Lipcolor in Bloodroses.
90s Look: Big, Supermodel Hair
Do you want that big, supermodel hair? Think Cindy Crawford at her prime: big curls, lots of volume and va-va-voom? Try Serge Normant’s Meta Lush Volumizer spray for volume, a 1″ Hot Tools Pro Marcel Grip Curling Iron for curl, and some Diane 2″ Mesh Rollers for height. Finish it all off with the classic L’Oreal Elnett Hairspray for flexible hold.
