Must Have Fashion Fall 2015
Author: Cheryl Kilbourne-Kimpton
I’ve been really anxious for fall to begin — I love fall clothing! I’ve made a few purchases in anticipation (a leather skater skirt, a comfy athletic scarf, a wool fit-and-flare skirt) but there are a few must-haves from the runway that you can easily adapt in your everyday life. What would you add to the list?
Must Have Fashion Fall 2015: Turtlenecks
Turtlenecks are the new t-shirt. They’re warm, layerable, and super comfortable, whether you buy them in cotton, superfine wool, or cashmere. They look great with a leather jacket, menswear jacket, skirt– anything! Take care of them by using the right hanger: we love the Non-Slip Knitwear Hanger. It won’t put those weird indentations in the shoulders and your turtlenecks will stay right in place.
Must Have Fashion Fall 2015: Elbow Length Gloves
Elbow length gloves were available last fall, but have become really popular on the NY runway for Fall 2015. They instantly dress up an outfit, are incredibly warm, and look great with capes and wraps. Store these easily with Hercules Clips — they’ll be visible in your closet and you’ll never lose a glove!
Must Have Fashion Fall 2015: Luxury Athletic Clothing
My favorite piece this year is a Lululemon Savasana scarf — but I doubt I’ll wear it to yoga; instead it will be a warm layer at my desk, walking around outside, and even as a wrap in the evening. Luxury athletic clothing is big this season, and all sorts of lines, such as the aforementioned Lululemon as well as lines like Prana, Stella McCarthy for Adidas, and Lucas Hughes are stepping up with items that look as good on the street as they do on the mat. These fabrics are special, however, and need to be taken care of with special cleansers. Try Activewear Mate, which protects, cleans and freshens your activewear. It protects the synthetic fabric (like elastic) and can be used both in the washing machine or by hand.
Must Have Fashion Fall 2015: Leather Leggings
Tights are great (and a staple in my wardrobe), but sometimes you want something edgier — or warmer. Try leather leggings. They have a little stretch, can be worn more like pants than normal leggings, and keep you very, very warm! Pair it with cute boots, a pair of heels, or even flats. You’ll need to keep them clean — and you can use Lexol in between professional cleanings to get out any stains. It’s gentle, non-alkaline, and will keep those leather leggings looking great.
